SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – June 28, 2001 – USA TODAY, the nation's largest-selling daily newspaper, has launched an affiliate marketing program through Commission Junction, the leading affiliate marketing service provider. USA TODAY will use Commission Junction's technology and services to help increase subscriptions using pay-for-performance advertising.

USA TODAY banner ads and text links will be offered to the Commission Junction network of thousands of publisher sites. Commission Junction will manage all relationships, monitor and report the affiliate marketing program performance and handle payment of commissions for USA TODAY. Publishers in the program earn commissions on a per-sale basis, while USA TODAY only pays for the advertising when a subscription is sold.
